CADT Photography was established by The Caer-Awen Discretionary Trust in 1998. The Trust is a Western Australian Arts organisation. James Rendell (B.A. Post.Grad.Dip. Grad.Dip.) is Trustee, Executive Director/Editor & Principle Photographer. In 2002, James completed a Graduate Diploma of Communications in Photomedia from Edith Cowan University. (Edith Cowan University (ECU) in Perth, Western Australia.

James Other Qualifications include a Bachelor of Arts in English & Religious Studies from ECU and  a Post Graduate Diploma in Health Promotion at Curtin University also in Western Australia. In 2004, James graduated from the English Language Academy at the University of Auckland (New Zealand) with a Trinity Certificate in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages. (TESOL)
